We've recently moved into our new home!! As most of my friends know, I love interior design. It's so tempting to rush the design and styling, but my intention is to take this process at a slower pace with great diligence and care. As such, I've done a lot of research to ensure I've considered each option for almost every piece we've invested in and want to share the fruits of my labor with you!
The topic today is vintage rugs. One of the first pieces I chose for our living room is the rug. We started the build process about 8 months ago so I've had a lot of time to think and consider options. For the home finishes (kitchen cabinets, countertops, hardware, lighting, etc), I was SO decisive. That was the easiest part of the process for us because I already knew exactly what I wanted. I thought that would be the case for the furniture, but it couldn't be more contrasting. I've changed my mind on so many design aspects over the last 8 months that it's kind of frightening. However, I've decided to start by purchasing the pieces that I've loved and wanted in our home for at least the past few months (rather than some of the pieces who've held my affection for only weeks, or sometimes days).
With that said, my rug choice for our living room has remained constant throughout, so we've moved forward with that purchase and I've gained a wealth of knowledge in the process. It's so easy to spend thousands of dollars on a beautiful vintage rug, but certainly not necessary. I've compiled a list of gorgeous options at different price points as a resource for you all!
